Space: Space Sciences and Challenges

The objective of the mécénat “Space: Science and Space Challenges” of the École Polytechnique is to offer relevant education for careers in space, as a researcher or as an executive in industry or major global space agencies, but also training through space. , valuable in all scientific and industrial fields. Teaching is based on two fundamental pillars: (i) high-level scientific courses in strong connection with the research carried out in the X research center, and (ii) project-based teaching based on vitality of the Student Space Center and which benefits from our partnership with our sponsors: Thales Alenia Space and ArianeGroup.

Context and Objectives
• Space is an attractive domain, for the dream of the conquest of space that it represents, the scientific discoveries and its economic and strategic (sovereignity) importance.
• Students are attracted from space. The Student association AstronautiX is an example of this attraction, as well as Ecole Polytechnique student space center (CSEP) that proposes every year challenging projects.
• The objective of PA "Science et Défis du Spatial" is to propose to 3A students an education in space related topics, with the purpose of preparing them for a career in space (researcher, engineer in the industry or prime companies) or in any scientific domain.
